How to create employee-entrepreneurs
Today we expect employees to behave as employee-entrepreneurs and think about their work as if it’s their own business. This means doing what’s necessary, putting in the extra hours, thinking ahead and take responsibility not only for their own job but for the organization as a whole. While ownership is key, this can never be fully expected from employees that don’t share in all the benefits.
But what options do organizations have to promote as much engagement and ownership as possible?
Link their personal goals to your organizational targets. By showing people that they can attain what they find personally important by achieving the organization’s goals, you create a win-win situation.
This can be reward, support, stability or anything else, as long as it provides additional value to the employee too.
