It is often believed that we need to heal our past in order to move forward in life. And therefore we spend a lot of time looking back at our childhood, puberty or life events that we feel could still impact us in a negative way.

It is important to realize that these efforts come from a good place. They come from a commitment to yourself to reach your full potential. It is actually an act of courage to take the time to dig in your past and see what needs to be healed.

Only I don’t know a lot of people, including myself, who really got what they wanted from analyzing, digging and thinking all the time about how things came to be.

We are here, now. The future we long for may not feel within reach (or maybe it does) but the past holds as little over us as a shower from three weeks ago; You think it has impact on your life now, but in fact you just start smelling weird.

When we hold a vision of who we want to be and start aligning ourselves with that, all the understanding we need to achieve our goals will to us. If you’re cutting yourself short because of a bad relationship and this is stopping you from attaining your goals, you will come to see it. If your childhood family-life holds unseen knowledge that you need to be aware of in order to be who you want to be, you will encounter it. But you do that by realizing that at this point you can decide who you want to be, no matter any history, old or recent. That is the duality of it; by realizing your freedom to be who you want to be, you open up the possibility to see what you thought could keep you from it.

That is the duality of it; by realizing your freedom to be who you want to be, you open up the possibility to see what you thought could keep you from it.

By setting an image of who you are (who you decide to be) you will automatically come to see what has been blocking you from living that truth. Only this time it will not be from placing the truth on past circumstances and looking at them for your resolution. It will be as if you were looking in the rearview mirror and seeing what kind of land you have passed. Some turns and edges may become clear, others may not be necessary to know because you are not travelling that road anymore.

Drive forward from the vision you hold highest.
